Emily is a dear friend. We met through our church. Emily moved onto the block I lived on in Brooklyn and when I found out we were neighbors we began having coffee dates. We got to know each other, shared about our faith, families and hopes for the future. At the time Emily expressed her desire to become a mother. The following year, God answered her prayers and she learned that her and RJ, her husband were excepting their first child.
Around the time Emily learned she was expecting, the pandemic hit and she had to spend the majority of the time at home in quarantine. It was hard for us as a church and as friends, to not be able to be more present for her as her little one grew day after day. Thankful as the year went on, eventually the stay at home orders eased and we began taking weekly walks through Prospect Park. Those are some of my favorite memories of our friendship.
Right before her giving due date, we were able to take these sweet photos of their family as they prepared for their child’s arrival.
Emily & RJ are one of the loveliest of couples. They’re adventurers and sweethearts and I absolutely loved photographing them. I think they may have been the first photo session I had since the pandemic, so I was bit rusty lol, they were very patient with me as I navigated this sunny day. Overall, it was a really great day with a really great family.
