The Wedding Venue | Lauxmont Farms

Providing wedding inspiration to couples is such a distinct way for creatives and photographers in the wedding industry to showcase trends we see and love. One trend I’ve wanted to see more of and love is “faux destination” elopements and intimate weddings.  When I write “faux” what I mean is, more and more couples are realizing that they can escape their cities or downtown areas to find stunning estates and properties right within their states that feel European or costal. This brings us to Lauxmont Farms.

Being a Lancaster Pennsylvania wedding photographer I’m passionate about highlighting local Lancaster and Central Pennsylvania wedding venues. Through this project I wanted to highlight one of my favorite Pennsylvania wedding venues, Lauxmont Farms.   Lauxmont farms is located right outside of Lancaster PA, in Wrightsville PA.  Apart from being situated on a gorgeous hilltop and acreages of farmland, Lauxmont has four wedding venues: The Cobblestone Courtyard (where our shoot took place), The Rotunda, The Japanese Garden, and The Sunken Gardens.  These four distinct venues on their property truly give a “far off and away” backdrop to a wedding or elopement.

Inspiration | A Countryside Elopement

The concept for this particular editorial was a countryside elopement.  A Lauxmont Farms wedding inspiration editorial seemed like the perfect way to tell the story.  I wanted it to feel very much like a couple escaping to the countryside to wed in a private & intimate ceremony.
When I connected with Kate from Forte Florals I explained that I wanted a subdued end of summer bouquet with hints of brown and lavender.  She created the most beautiful organic bouquet and boutonniere that brought the vision to life.  I love bouquets that are artistic and beautiful without being too showy. These florals were perfect for this editorial.

Gratitude

I really enjoyed working with this team of local wedding vendors.  Everyone from hair and make-up to the florist and venue were so professional and fabulous to work with.  It’s so great knowing that I live in a town with such exceptional vendors who know how to serve couples well all while producing high-end results for clients. I want to thank everyone who participated and making this shoot possible.  And I want thank Pennsylvania Weddings Magazine for featuring this editorial in their Spring 2023 print issue.
