A picture is a poem without words.
- HORACE

Photographer & Art lover

I am the owner and head photographer of Writer & Beloved Photography. I'm a NYC Wedding & Elopement photographer, based on the East Coast and traveling world wide to capture stories of love.
I am a believer. Loving and knowing Jesus is the very best thing I have and something that makes up just about everything that I am.  I am also a wife to wonderful Daniel, and a mother to three beautiful, witty, hilarious children.
I am incredibly introverted and awkward which makes the social aspects of running a photography business so hard! Thankfully, my clients are the sweetest, and usually bring out the chatter box in me, with their warmth and kindness, whenever I meet them.
Taking someone's photograph is so personal and engaging and I am so thankful for every single person, couple, and family that gives me the honor to be the person who does that for them.
When I am not running Writer & Beloved Photography, I'm noting down poems in my phone, traveling with my family, or binge watching The Walking Dead with a giant semi-warm cup of black coffee in my hand.

"The preservation of a moment in time  in an artful and organic way"

I want you to remember the way you felt and what you saw. and cherish it for a lifetime with every image. I aim to capture light, film inspired images.

Gathering inspiration for my work begins with who I am photographing. My hope is to allow my clients to feel at ease with me in order for me to  draw out true emotions. I want to earn your trust as the photographer so that your images document truth along with beauty.

Since I was very young I always loved pictures. I could stare at old family photos for hours, and loved the way photos preserved memories so vividly. We always had albums around our house growing up; these big heavy books with tiny doorways into our past.

Years later when I became a mother I began to miss the connection I once had with photography when I was younger. When my husband and I moved back to Brooklyn, New York from Phoenix, Arizona, the idea of Writer & Beloved Photography was already pressing on my heart.

I decided to take my passion more seriously, and with the support of my husband Daniel, I opened Writer & Beloved Photography.

For the last three years I've been photographing special moments shared between couples, families and documenting brands and their purpose. While traveling I have gotten to meet wonderful people & create beautiful, artful images full of emotion and truth. Running a small business has its many challenges & its many rewards, my clients & their stories are the overwhelming reward.

I approach photography with an artistic perspective.
I am inspired by architecture, music and art.
I want to capture photos that tell the story authentically.
The story, the people in the images, the moments- they all matter.

& WHY I LOVE

romantic stories

I met my husband in 2009, soon I became to know him as a friend and brother in Christ.
He was a funny guy with great wit and an intelligent sense of humor that immediately drew me to him.  One day I casually invited him out to see a lecture I wanted to attend that was being given by Elie Wiesel. He kindly informed me that he couldn't make it.  I had no idea that he actually had feelings for me then.  He'd later tell me how frustrated he had been that he had to miss our non-date, but at the same time, thrilled that I had opened that door by inviting him out.  So he in turn invited me out to go see The Screwtape Letters at an off Broadway show.  From the moment the evening started, I felt so nervous! I could no longer ignore how handsome,  intelligent and thoughtful he was.  Within minutes of meeting up with him I was already falling in love with him.

We were married in 2013 and now live in Brooklyn with our three children, black lab and several canaries.
