Skytop Lodge Spring Wedding

Densley & Jorge’s April wedding was a special one. The two had wed in an intimate ceremony earlier in the year, and were now ready to celebrate with their closest friends and family. Densley, a nurse had been on the front line of the covid pandemic while working in hospitals. In the midst of such a difficult year, Densley says, God lead her and Jorge to each other. They met and quickly fell in love, becoming engaged only months after meeting. On their wedding day their closest friends and family came together at Denlsey’s childhood church, where both of her older siblings had been married to their respective spouses. Under a familiar cross they sang hymns to the Lord, and then said their “I do’s”. For the pair, it was the culmination of their whirlwind romance.
They held their reception at The Skytop Lodge in Pennsylvania. It was my first time photographing a wedding in PA, since moving here. I was so pleased to explore a new part of Pennsylvania and photograph a Skytop Lodge Wedding.
The grounds are really pretty and the venue itself is really awesome aswell.
The wedding was fun and playful. Family members shared their deep happiness for Densley & Jorge, they also celebrated the joining of two families and the formation of a new one in Densley & Jorge. Overall their wedding was a beautiful celebration of two people who found each other against all the odds 2020 threw at us all.
My favorite parts of the wedding day were the musical moments. Densley, a classically trained pianist and singer incorporated music through out the entire day. Jorge and her sang a song together in Jorge’s native language, Spanish, during their ceremony. It was a really beautiful song, and I’m sure they surprised many of their family members singing a song together in two languages. I also loved the piano and violin that was played during the hymn portions of the ceremony. It was all very special and romantic.
The two spent the reception dancing the night away with their loved ones. There were so many smiles, so much laughter, lots of music. They danced surrounded by the Skytop Lodge windows that brought the outside sunset in, and it felt like what it was, a really fun celebration on the Skytop surrounded by sky and twilight.
I’m thankful to Densley & Jorge for having me as their photographer for their engagement and wedding. I pray that they enjoy a lifetime of music, laughter & joy together.
